Who We Are

Built to respond when life hits hardest.

Good Samaritan Initiative (GSI) is a faith-based nonprofit organization. We exist to extend the compassion of Christ to individuals and families enduring life’s greatest hardships. Whether facing the loss of a loved one, a serious illness, or sudden tragedy, GSI steps in to meet immediate needs with tangible care and spiritual compassion.

GSI serving the community

Mission Statement

Inspired by the parable of the Good Samaritan in Luke 10:25–37, Good Samaritan Initiative extends the compassion of Christ to individuals and families facing life’s greatest hardships. We provide short-term financial aid and connect those in crisis with trusted partners who offer services of care, comfort, and restoration — meeting people in their grief and walking with them toward hope and healing.

Vision Statement

A world where every person who experiences tragedy is met with Christlike compassion — not left alone in their suffering, but lifted by a community of faith, generosity, and love.

We don’t exist to spotlight individuals — we exist to spotlight families in need and the community that steps forward.

Core Values

The principles that guide every decision.

These aren’t slogans — they are the standards we aim to live by in every partnership, every request, and every act of service.

1

Faith in Action

We live out the Gospel by loving our neighbors as ourselves, following Christ’s command in Luke 10:37 to “go and do likewise.”

2

Compassion

Every act of service begins with empathy for those who are hurting.

3

Restoration

We offer more than relief; we help rebuild lives after loss and hardship.

4

Integrity

We steward every gift and partnership with honesty, transparency, and accountability.

5

Collaboration

We partner with churches, associations, and service providers to multiply impact through unity in purpose.

6

Hope

We believe no tragedy is too great for God’s healing grace and community care.

How We Help

Fast relief, handled with dignity.

We prioritize rapid response without losing the human side of crisis. People are not projects — they are families facing real hardship.

Christ at the Center Every decision, partnership, and outreach must reflect the teachings and compassion of Jesus.
Meet the Need First Our first priority is to relieve suffering quickly and effectively. If we don’t currently have the resources, we will find it.
Serve With Dignity Those we help are not projects, but people deeply loved by God.
Short-Term Help, Long-Term Hope We provide immediate aid that fosters stability, healing, and renewal.

Seasonal Initiative

Project Christmas Lights

Each winter, we support families by bringing light to homes in a season that can feel especially heavy. This initiative exists to serve with joy while honoring the reality that times can be hard — and people shouldn’t face hardship alone.

When the season is the hardest, we show up.

Project Christmas Lights is a practical reminder: people still care. Our goal is not attention — it’s presence. It’s a way to bless families and help them feel supported in a season where grief, illness, loss, or unexpected hardship can feel amplified.

How do I request help for myself or someone else?

How are donations used?
Donations are directed toward tangible crisis relief — financial aid and/or connecting families to practical services and trusted partners. We aim to steward every gift with integrity and transparency.
Can I partner with GSI as a church, business, or service provider?
Yes. Partnerships help multiply impact. Visit Get Involved to start a conversation about collaboration and support options.
